You are purchasing a finished square rustic table l storage. I use a wood stain finish on the top and the same for the sides and a gloss finish on the wood to help protect it. I use a mix of reclaimed wood as it helps us environmentally and you get to have a nice piece of furniture in your home. The wood comes from an industrial district here in California where a lot of the wood goes to waste and that's where I come in and use it to make the best pieces
